The City of Kettering will ask voters this fall to pass a bond issue for improvements to Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (PRCA) facilities. If passed, the bond will not increase taxes.

Kettering residents were asked via survey and focus groups (see complete survey at www.ketteringoh.org) to help the City prioritize what facilities should be improved. The facilities that topped the list were outdoor recreation facilities and the recreation complex. The City will be working with architects to create conceptual drawings of what the improvements could be.

The bond issue would provide approximately $12.3 million for improvements and will continue to cost the owner of a $100,000 home approximately $25 per year. In 1988, voters approved a bond issue that provided the same level of funding for various improvements to PRCA facilities.
